New, improved Online system – Blinx

Posted on:

Dear Patient,

We are pleased to announce that we are introducing a new, improved online service called Blinx in early June this year.

Why We’re Making This Change

We’ve listened to your feedback about our current online system. Many of you told us it could be:

  • Difficult to login
  • Limited in availability
  • Limited in the services available

Our new system directly addresses these concerns with a simpler, more flexible approach.

What This Means For You

The new system will make it easier for you to:

  • Book appointments online without needing to create an account
  • Submit both medical and administrative requests from your phone, tablet, or computer
  • Provide more detailed information about your health concern to our triage team
  • Access a range of our services through one simple online portal

How The New System Works

Blinx features a “Digital Front Door” that we are specifically customising for our practice. Essentially this is an online portal where you can access many of our services in one, easy to navigate system.

No login required – You will be able to access Blinx using your own personal details, without creating accounts or remembering passwords.

Tailored service options – We’ve configured the system to provide quick access to both medical and administrative services. Many of these will be available throughout the day, avoiding the 8am rush.

More detailed forms – Our triage team can gather the right information from you the first time, reducing back-and-forth communications to clarify the issue.

Administrative requests available – Easily submit prescription queries, fit note requests, find information on accessing your medical record and test results, and other non-medical requests.

What You Need To Do

You do not need to do anything right now. We will provide more information closer to the launch date including:

  • Simple instructions for using Blinx
  • Where to find the new service on our website
  • How to get help if you need it

Supporting All Patients

We understand that not everyone has access to the internet, computers, or smartphones. We would like to reassure you that Blinx will benefit those service users as well as those who are more digitally enabled:

  • Improved access for everyone – By encouraging digital use where possible, we will have more availability on our phone lines for those who need them
  • Phone and in-person services will continue – You can still call us or visit the surgery as you do now
  • Equal support for all patients – Our reception team will use the same Care Navigation system as the Blinx Digital Front Door to help patients who call us or visit the surgery
  • No digital disadvantage – All requests will be reviewed in the same way whether submitted online or by our team on your behalf

This new system helps us serve all patients better, regardless of how you contact us. By providing digital options for those who can use them, we can offer more support to patients who prefer or need traditional methods of contact.

When This Will Happen

We will be launching the new service in June this year. Until then, please continue to use Patchs as normal.

Updates and Questions

We will be sharing further updates on the launch of Blinx closer to the time that we go live, so please look out for further updates via SMS, our website and our social media platforms.

We will be holding a drop-in session at Tanworth Lane surgery on Wednesday 21st May at 6:30pm where we will be happy to answer any questions you may have on the change.

We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible while improving the ways you can access our services. Thank you for your patience and support.
